Descripción

El grupo de Biología de la Reproducción CSIC (ICM) ha centrado sus estudios en la utilización de microarrays específicos de lubina y rodaballo enriquecidos en genes relacionados con la reproducción, respuesta inmune y crecimiento, para la medida de la expresión génica global en muestras de animales en distintos momentos de su desarrollo, bajo ciertas condiciones ambientales, tanto bióticas como abióticas. Además, ha colaborado con otros grupos interesados en la regulación de la reproducción de peces, así como en el control epigenético de la expresión génica. A mayores, el ICM, ha puesto a disposición tanto de otros grupos como del sector privado, diversas técnicas para medir modificaciones epigenéticas (MSAP, ChIP-PCR, RRBS, etc.) en peces cultivados bajo distintas condiciones ambientales o bajo distintos tratamientos experimentales (dietas, , estrés…), utilizando estas técnicas como herramienta de diagnóstico de la condición fisiológica de los animales o como herramienta de prognosis sobre la probable respuesta fisiológica de animales sometidos a determinadas condiciones ambientales. Cabe destacar también que el grupo del Dr. Piferrer ha puesto a disposición de otros grupos y del sector privado, técnicas para el control de la reproducción de peces cultivados, particularmente el control de la proporción de sexos y de la maduración gonadal.
