Professor at Genetics Department in the Veterinary Faculty of University of Santiago.
Her researcher activity is focused on the genomes analysis and in the populations genetics of aquatic organisms, mainly fish and molluscs. She has been involved in projects applied to the conservation of biological resources and breeding / selection programs in aquaculture, in collaboration with administrations and companies in the sector. Also, in projects of structural and functional genomics in relation to the study of biological processes of evolutionary and productive interest. Her research interests include the integration of genetic, chromosomal and physical maps, comparative mapping, QTL and candidate gene analysis, and population genomics.
