The research carried out by the IATS-2 has focused on the studies of the neural networks involved in the control of ingestion and the response to stress in fish and how these neuronal systems can mediate Its effect on growth. The availability by the IATS-2 group of anatomical atlases of the brain of commercial species (seabass, seabream and sole) and model species (zebrafish), as well as the presence of a computerized system in its facilities for the measurement of levels of Ingestion and use in commercial species, in addition to the various biotechnological and "omics" techniques developed, such as the development of transgenic lines and knock outs using CRISPR technology, have allowed to increase and transfer knowledge about the mechanisms governing the control of intake and neural networks that govern eating behavior.
